The British Standard Pipe (BSP) is typically used internationally for interconnecting and sealing pipe ends by mating an external (male) with an internal (female) thread and has been adopted as a standard scale used in plumbing fittings, except in the United States and more commonly the oil and gas industry where NPT is the standard used. BSP threads are imperial (inch) sizes and the pitch is measured in TPI (threads per inch).
Carbide thread milling produces a stronger than machine tapping, reduces cycle times and eliminate the risk of scrapping jobs due to tool failure. Thread milling is highly recommended over tapping for stainless steel and exotic materials. For larger thread forms, we recommend INDEXABLE THREAD MILLING.
