Our Gerardi Compact Grip Vice offers the most compact self-centring machine vice on the market, and we’re confident in its ability to provide an advanced, reliable and precise clamping solution. So confident, in fact, that we’ve made a quick video starring our Technical Manager to properly convey the many benefits this system offers.

Overview

Gerardi’s Compact Grip is a self-centring modular machine vice which allows for immediate positioning of the vice on the machining table, tombstone, 4th or 5th axis machine or fixture using a quick clamping table. What this means for the end user is a significant reduction in set-up times, which could result in hours of savings and increases in productivity.

High and consistent clamping forces are achieved from 12kN up to 32kN. Each vice is hardened and ground to 60 Rockwell on its base, jaws and lead screw, with an overall accuracy of 0.02mm. It also comes with a 5-year warranty from Gerardi, which covers the vice and all its components.

Modularity

One of the major plus points of the Compact Grip, alongside other similar Gerardi systems like the Standard Series and Standard Flex range, is the different types of jaws you can quickly interchange on each model.

You can quickly change the jaw plates, which contain different tooth pitches, for soft, regular or hard materials, plus smooth plates for finish machining. Solid jaws are also reversible, doubling the value of each component and ensuring the longest possible working life.

Precision

Gerardi are renowned for producing accurate and reliable clamping solutions, and the Compact Grip system is no exception!

Hardened steel working surfaces are ground within 0.01mm, which makes this system perfect for use in a part or in a multiple vice set-up on a VMC, tombstone or rotary table fixture. Furthermore, with an additional fixed jaw, 2 workpieces can be clamped with just 1 vice.

Powerful, immediate clamping

Grip on just 3mm or the full jaw height with Compact Grip. Also removed from the traditional clamping process is stamping or dovetailing the workpiece. Gerardi’s unique lead screw technology delivers 100% more clamping force (up to 32kN) than leading German 5-axis brands. Just clamp on as little as 3mm and start machining!

Furthermore, this system can be used in conjunction with the Zero Point system for an unbeatable pneumatic clamping system. Gerardi’s Zero Point is the easiest and most cost-effective way to reduce downtime and increase profits.
