Advantages

Low Cost Per Edge

Double sided inserts with 8 usable cutting edges overall for economical face milling

High Performance

Dedicated system for 45 degree face milling from roughing to fine finishing

Reduced Machine Stress

Low cutting resistance even at high feeds/large depths of cut reduces stress on the machine

Excellent Chip Control

High rake inserts offer excellent chip flow even in non-ferrous or long chipping applications

Features

Ultra Thick Inserts

The double sided inserts are over 6.35mm thick making them ultra strong for facing off

Direct Coolant

Through coolant is directed straight to the cutting edge for optimum effectiveness

Range of Chipbreakers

5 chipbreakers for a wide range of applications including wiper geometry for fine finishing

Edge Preparation

Inserts feature a chamfered edge to protect the cutting edge from chipping

Rich Mill RM8 Inserts

Insert Designation:

SNMX - Standard Tolerance
SNEX - Ground Tolerance, Non-Ferrous & Finishing

Rich Mill RM8 inserts are double sided and have 8 usable cutting edges in total.
The high rake angle provides a low cutting ressitant and smooth chip flow, even in high feed/large depth of cut applications.

Chipbreaker Guide

Chipbreaker Cutting Edge Application Description
MA Aluminium Optimal cutting edge, high positive rake and buffed surface prevents built up edge and smooth chip flow in aluminium machining
ML Stainless Steel / HRSA's Chip breaker with low cutting load is ideal for machining hard‑to‑cut materials such as stainless steel, titanium, inconel and hastelloy
MF Light Cutting / Finishing / Soft Steel Chip breaker with low cutting load and sharper cutting edge. Excellent for finishing operations, general milling of soft steels and also ideal for low power machines due to low cutting resistance
MM General Machining Optimal for milling in general machining conditions
W (Wiper)* Finishing Special geometry provide excellent surface roughness

*Wiper geometry to be used in conjunction with alternative chip breakers e.g. a 5 tooth holder would take 4x SNMX12/SNEX12 (MF) inserts and 1x Wiper, a 10 tooth holder could take 8x SNMX12/ SNEX12 (MF) inserts and 2x Wipers. For more information please contact technical.
