What is the Dickson Quick Change system?
The Dickson quick change system was developed to lower set up times whilst interchanging lathe toolholders. The system incorporates a versatile range of interchangeable toolhodlers which can be changed over in seconds. Dickson (now supplied by Pratt Burnerd) were the first to introduce the quick change toolpost and toolholder range to the market. At the time, it was considered a major step up compared to a conventional four way toolpost system. The ability to adjust the centre height in seconds, eliminating the need for packing pieces, was a major advancement
